The Do's and Don'ts of Picking Fantasy Football Rankings

There are dozens of different factors to consider when creating fantasy football rankings, and even the slightest misstep can send your rankings into disarray. For example, if you forget to include one of your kicker’s matchups, then you’re not likely to win any matchups during the season, no matter how many points he puts up.

Focus on Players' Recent Performance
-Know what scoring system you're going to use. Different scoring systems have different effects on where players are ranked. For example, in head-to-head points, touchdowns are weighted higher than other statistics so wide receivers would rank much higher. In rotisserie leagues, they carry little weight which means receivers like Antonio Brown will be more desirable in drafts because he is consistent and doesn't rely on big plays to rack up stats.

Look at Player Statistics
One of the most important things to consider when making your rankings is player statistics. While this is obvious, it can be more difficult than expected as player stats are not always public knowledge. An easy way to do this research is to find rankings on a fantasy site that provides such stats as part of their content.
Generally, players who have had good or excellent years in the past should be at the top of your list while those who have had bad or poor years in the past should be towards the bottom. When comparing recent stats to career numbers, pay attention to what percentage they've improved or decreased, and use that information to determine their place on your list for 2015.

Focus on Certain Positions
Do not fall into the trap of drafting just the players you want. Instead, focus on the positions where your team is weakest. If your league requires a QB, choose to draft one early in order to get all top talent. And, before drafting a WR, make sure you have at least two running backs with high averages to support him. Lastly, it is important to note that drafting a defense can save time on future pickups or free up roster spots for better depth on offense. A key element when deciding which players to draft is knowing what position needs what type of player. For example, if you are trying to fill a position as an RB, then it would be best to find someone who has higher than average yards per carry (YP/C) ข่าวบอล
It is also crucial to know which positions need more than one player. The QB position needs two players since they cannot share their spot on the field without risking injury; whereas TEs are interchangeable as long as they both play equally well because they share the same space on the field and do not compete against each other for playing time.

Focus on Key Players
The beauty in having the NFL season stretch from September to December is that the first few weeks can often be your best chance at taking advantage of an undervalued player on the waiver wire. The key here is knowing which players will take off (and who will fizzle out) once the calendar turns to October. Here are four sleepers that could give you a huge boost:
* Andy Dalton, Bengals Quarterback
* Danny Woodhead, Chargers Running Back
* Devonta Freeman, Falcons Running Back
* James Jones, Packers Wide Receiver

Pick Sleepers
If you want to pick a sleeper, don't go off players that will be unavailable due to injury. Injuries happen all the time, so you never know when your guy could get hurt. Don't waste your precious sleeper picks on players like Jamaal Charles or Tony Romo if they're sitting out in Week 1. Instead, do what ESPN fantasy guru Mike Clay does and pick players like Darren McFadden, C.J. Anderson or Ryan Mathews that have high upside but may not get drafted as highly because of uncertainty about their workload early in the season

Watch Out for Bye Weeks
Pay attention to the bye weeks! A week in which a team doesn't play is called a bye week. Players with that team on their roster won't earn any points during that week and may have weaker matchups than players on teams who still play during that week. You want to make sure you don't put all your eggs in one basket when it comes to picking those all-important starters. Check each player's projected stats for the upcoming games, current performance, and schedule strength for a given matchup before choosing your lineup!
