Can CBD Help with Epilepsy

Epilepsy is a serious health condition that can affect the entire life of the patient. It will make them uncertain about whether it is safe to drive around, go to work, or doing anything else because they are worried about when another attack will happen, especially if they have a severe condition for it. There are a few products on the market that promise to help with this condition, but one natural option that seems to help, without all of the negative side effects and issues, is CBD.

As of June 2018, the FDA approved a medication known as Epidiolex as a way to treat seizures for patients who were at least two years old. This medication is a plant-based formulation of CBD, which means that the medicinal properties of CBD are starting to get recognized. What is even more, this medication is used to help with two of the rarest forms of epilepsy, Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome.

CBD has also been researched to see whether it would work in other forms of epilepsy that are usually resistant to treatment. For the most part, this is done to see if the CBD can be used in addition to some of the conventional medications that are used for this treatment. While the results have varied quite a bit, several of the trials showed how CBD was able to significantly reduce the frequency of the seizures by 44% in most of the patients who were part of the study. This can be huge for those who have struggled with epilepsy and its side effects for many years.

However, if you are already on medication to help with your epilepsy, it is a good idea to talk with your doctor before you start to take CBD or any product with it in there. It is possible that the CBD is going to interact with some of the other medications and there is the potential for some serious side effects to occur. It will depend on the type of medication that you are taking on the time and only you and your doctor can make that decision.

When you are looking to find CBD to help fight off epilepsy and keep you safe, you need to make sure that you are choosing the right products to get it done. Premium cbd oils can be a great option to help you out with this. They will allow you to consume the CBD that you need to fight off the symptoms of epilepsy in a safe and effective manner, all while letting you live a normal and happy life again.
