Let's face it, your hair has a mind of its own and can do just about anything it wants to do every day. But with a few hair care tips and tricks, you can tame shrew (in this case, your hair)! There may be days when you feel like it's completely out of control. But there's a way to let your hair know who's boss and regain control -- and that's through a proper hair-care routine.

You don't have to overhaul your current hair care routine and buy all new hair care beauty products. However, there are some simple tips and tricks you can follow that can bring huge improvements to your hair in just a few days. Let's take a look! Best Hair Care Tips and Tricks
1. Tips for shampooing
In fact, you might be doing something wrong in the shower that's preventing your hair from looking its best. Let's see some tricks you can try:

Oil your hair: Oiling your hair before washing is probably the best thing you can do for your mane. Massage some coconut, olive, or almond oil into your hair and scalp an hour before you get into the shower to pretreat it (1), (2). Use warm or cold water: Hot water can damage hair like heat from heat styling tools—dehydrating hair and causing split ends. Always wash your hair with warm or cold water to close the hair cuticle and retain the moisture in it.
Thinning Shampoo: We all tend to use 2-3 pumps of shampoo when we wash our hair. But the hard truth is that shampoos strip your hair of its natural oils, drying it out. To prevent this from happening, dilute 1-2 pumps of shampoo in half a cup of water and use it to wash your hair.
Gently massage: Don't rub your hair too hard when washing your hair. Instead, massage your scalp and hair in light circular motions with your fingers while shampooing to prevent excessive tangling and damage (3).
Apply conditioner only to the ends: Applying conditioner to the entire hair from root to tip can create a large buildup on the scalp (4). Apply conditioner only from mid-length to ends of hair and wash it off after 2 minutes.
Don't wash your hair every day: The last and most important tip for washing your hair is -- don't. wash. yours. hair. Every. sky. While you may think you're very hygienic, all of this can dehydrate and damage your hair, stripping its natural oils and making it more prone to breakage and hair loss.
2. Tips for drying your hair
You may not know this, but when you brush and dry your hair, there's a good chance you're doing damage to your hair. Here are a few things to keep in mind when you step out of the shower:

Use a microfiber towel: After getting out of the shower, pre-dry your hair with a microfiber towel. Avoid terry towelettes, as it can over-tangle hair, increase frizz, and cause hair breakage.
Avoid blow-drying: Hair dryers can produce as much heat as heat styling tools can do to your hair. It's best to apply leave-in conditioner on damp hair and let it air dry.
Dry only when your hair is partially dry: If you absolutely can't stop using your blow dryer, make this simple adjustment. Dry hair 70% dry. This gives your hair cuticle time to close and reduces heat damage.
