In the Internet world, the terms web page and website are often misused to express the same thing, but they have many differences. Indeed, web pages and websites are not synonyms. Customers, users and the general public need to learn the scope of each of these terms and use the words web page and website interchangeably.

Difference Between Website And Webpage

Web page: A web page is defined as a single digital document or a solitary page from any website that can be viewed online. Every web page has a unique URL used to render or access that page. You can make the similarity with a book, where each page has a different content and is identified with a different page number. The content of a web page is very varied. It can be a page containing text, graphics, forms, images, audio and video in static and dynamic formats.

Website: A website is a site located on the global computer network or World Wide Web (www) that is characterized by containing several web pages under the same domain name and linked to each other through hyperlinks.

The quickest way to recognize the difference between a web page and a website is by understanding that a website comprises several pages linked under the same domain name. When entering a website and reviewing its top menu, you can generally find the name of the web pages that comprise it, and when you click, you will "jump" to said pages (although there are exceptions such as One Page).

Differences between Ftp And Http

Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) and File Transfer Protocol (FTP) are the protocols for transferring files between the client and the server. There are many differences between FTP and HTTP.

HTTP:

  • It stands for hypertext transfer protocol.
  • It only supports data connection.
  • The URL that uses the HTTP protocol will start with HTTP.
  • Does not require authentication.
  • Files transferred to the computer via the Internet are not saved in memory.
  • HTTP is used to deliver web pages to the web browser from the server

FTP:

  • It stands for File Transfer Protocol
  • It supports data connection and control connection
  • The URL using FTP will start with FTP.
  • Requires authentication.
  • Files transferred to the computer via the Internet are saved in memory.
  • It is not a stateless protocol and maintains states.

Importance of Different Types of Browsersweb browsers are essential to access and circulate on the Internet since they are the link through which you can navigate the network.

Google Chrome: Google Chrome stands out thanks to its ability to start up quickly, load web pages instantly, and run complex web applications at high speeds.

Mozilla Firefox: Mozilla Firefox is one of the oldest since it hit the market in 2003 and is the second most used. It is characterized by being an independent program and by not being for profit.

Edge: This web browser focuses on e-commerce and productivity due to its features.

Opera: Opera has been a pioneer in offering many of the features we see today in other web browsers, such as zoom and popularized search.
