What Are The Leading Factors Of Varicose Veins?

Posted By Stone Kraus     December 6, 2022

Body

Varicose veins become a severe condition when they cause pain and discomfort to you. But Ignoring the symptoms of varicose veins can be dangerous and lead to other risk factors.

These veins are painful and appear mainly in the legs. It is not a cosmetic problem, and sometimes more than it is. Find out more about varicose veins and discuss them with your surgeon. What is a Vein Doctor Called? A doctor who diagnoses, treats and manages veins and arteries conditions are called a vein doctor.

Varicose veins may develop because of pressure and stress; they likely appear on the legs because of too much standing or sitting. A job like standing and sitting for hours can make a person adapt to the disease. Excessive pressure on the legs or abdomen negatively impacts the valves inside your veins. These veins inside become weak and damaged, and the blood pool in the veins. When the blood pools inside the veins, it causes them to twist and swell and bulge from the skin, which results in bluish-red cords in the skin called varicose veins.

What Kind of Doctor is a Vein Specialist? Are you experiencing varicose veins? Then a vein specialist can only treat your damaged veins. The factors that can cause the development of varicose veins are:

Gender

Varicose veins are likely to occur more in women than men because of hormonal changes in women's bodies.

The changes in hormones throughout women's lives can influence the strength of blood vessels, causing the veins' walls to rest and making them more prone to leaking. This leaking provides varicose veins with a bulging, wrinkled appearance and deep purple-to-red color. It also becomes delicate to the touch. Other varicose veins include dry skin, achy legs, cramps, and fatigue.

Inactivity

People inactive and lethargic throughout the day can be more prone to varicose veins. Being lethargic can cause weight gain and increase the risk of varicose veins. Staying active keeps you healthy and promotes good blood circulation in the body.

Regular exercise can help promote healthy circulation, allowing blood to circulate throughout the body. Because of this, circulation problems can occur when people need to move about more.

Overweight

Obesity is somehow linked to varicose veins, especially when the condition first appears in the legs. The pressure excess weight might have on the veins in the lower extremities is one reason varicose veins develop.

Like the other risk factors of hormonal changes in women, they are more at risk of varicose veins if they are overweight.

Age

Age also contributes to varicose veins, and it is significantly more common among people aged.

This may relate to the daily wear and tear lifestyle. Risk factors for varicose veins, like inactivity, may become more significant as we age. Additionally, as I have already stated, menopause can lead to varicose veins, which only start to affect people around 45.

Additionally, as people age, their veins generally lose some elasticity, affecting how well the valves inside them function. Varicose vein symptoms could result from blood pooling in the lower legs as a result of this.

In conclusion:

Varicose veins are treatable, but you should treat them on time, as they might worsen if not treated on time. Call your doctor and discuss the disease and symptoms, and your doctor may suggest you the best treatment options.
