Shanghai Jimei Machinery's Milk Powder Making Machine is ideal for wet and dry applications. The versatility of our equipment means that the same machine can be used to grind wet and dry powders, providing a cost-effective solution for many manufacturers.
Dry grinding
Conical mills are most commonly used for particle size reduction and de-agglomeration of dry materials such as powders, granules and small pieces. It can also be used to grind harder materials such as seeds, candies and tablets (for recycling purposes). By changing the screen and impeller type, different particle sizes and yields can be achieved on a single machine – a quick and easy process.
Grinding the granules to a specific size is necessary to improve the dissolution properties of the pharmaceutical formulation. By maintaining a consistent average particle size distribution (PSD) of the formulation, a higher quality mixture is obtained for the preparation of oral solid dosage forms such as tablets and capsules.
Another common grinding application is the agglomeration and agglomeration of loose materials. Bulk powders typically agglomerate during shipping and storage, and in most applications, the material needs to be ground prior to subsequent downstream processes (such as mixing and compression) to increase its flow. Reducing agglomerates to a uniform size powder also improves the quality of the final product.
Wet grinding
For faster and more consistent downstream drying processes, manufacturers may want to reduce the particle size of the material. This increases the surface area of the product, allowing it to dry faster before downstream processing.
By wet milling, bulk and uneven powders can be reduced to a uniform particle size. This results in faster drying times and will also benefit the quality of the finished product. The removal of large particles and agglomerates also prevents surface hardening, which is an undesirable situation, in which case the agglomerates outside the particles dry faster than the interior and form a barrier to seal the interior of the particles. Moisture.
In wet milling, the grinder is typically located at the exit of a high shear granulator. After grinding, the material is evacuated into a container or drying facility. Depending on your application, we recommend wet grinding with slotted or square screens and square impellers.
Because the material is ground earlier during processing, the final particle size after drying does not need to be as large; this results in a more uniform particle size distribution.
Shanghai Jimei Machinery Co., Ltd. not only launches efficient and fast dairy production equipment, but also is a good choice for Juice Production Line equipment. We are a professional supplier of food equipment, welcome your message and consultation.
