5 Tips on How to Have a Memorable Trip to the Louvre

One of the largest and most popular museums in the world is the Louvre. It is very vast and exhibits about 35,000 items of art. Therefore, deciding where to start your tour of this extraordinary museum might be challenging.

So, to assist you in better organizing your trip to the Louvre Museum and making it unforgettable, here is a guide. Here it is:

Purchase a timed ticket before your visit to the Louvre Museum

The Louvre is the world's most popular museum. The museum attracted 2.8 million visitors in 2021, and as tourism continues to soar in a post-pandemic Paris, that number will undoubtedly rise. Purchase a ticket in advance to reduce the amount of time you spend in line. In this manner, you can present your ticket and begin your visit by strolling directly to your favourite Louvre wing.

Understand where to avoid lines

By entering by the Carrousel du Louvre instead of the well-known Pyramid entrance, you can bypass the long security line. The steps that run on either side of the Arc du Triomphe du Carrousel provide entry to the Carrousel du Louvre, a subterranean shopping centre in front of the Louvre, which is directly accessible from the metro line 1 at the Palais Royale Musée du Louvre stop.

Go after midnight

The Louvre is open until 9:45 p.m. on Fridays. Get a late meal and then go to the Louvre to spend some time exploring the empty corridors.

Don't try to see everything

You will never see all 35,000 paintings on display at the Louvre. Consider this: it would take six weeks to see all the artworks if you saw each one for 30 seconds. Take your time, and if you find anything you like, hang around; if not, keep going.

Don't rule out the Richelieu wing

Sully, Denon, and Richelieu are the three wings that make up the Louvre. We spent the majority of our time in the Denon and Sully wings during our visit, but the Richelieu wing also has some hidden gems for those who want to explore the Louvre's more sedate areas.

Magnificent French sculptures, Mesopotamian artefacts, and perhaps most importantly, Napoleon III's apartment from his time as French emperor, may all be found in this portion of the Louvre.

So, while taking the Louvre Museum tour, go through this list and you are good to go. Travel safe!
