Understanding How Your Air Conditioner Works

First off you should definitely know that your air conditioning unit has an evaporator coil. The whole purpose of this component is to cool the warmer air as it’s blown over it. Which can cause condensation to form on the unit.

Dirty Air Filter

When it begins to melt, it will evidently drip a lot of water, so much in fact the pan won’t be able to handle it. You should be careful with your air filter. You should check it on a regular basis and change it if it shows signs of being dirty.

Low Refrigerant

The same can be said about low refrigerant, it will ultimately diminish the overall pressure in the AC system and cause the evaporator coil to freeze. Just like with the dirty air filter once the coil begins to melt, the water will eventually overflow and make your air conditioner leak.
