Delta Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Policy, Booking Fee

Parents should be concerned if their child travels alone on an airline without a companion. This is the Delta Airlines Unaccompanied Minor Policy. It will help you to understand the process of making Delta Airlines reservations for children flying on their own.

Delta Airlines provides complete safety and comfort for unaccompanied minors traveling alone. America's oldest legacy carrier Delta Airlines is America's top airline. It has its Unaccompanied Minor Program. This program features a Sky Zone lounge for children, a trackable wristband, and a Delta Airlines staff member who will accompany the child during the entire travel day.

What is the unaccompanied minor policy of Delta Airlines?

Delta Airlines states that children between the ages of five and fourteen (14) must be escorted through the airport by Delta personnel for an additional fee. However, children aged four years and younger must be accompanied by an adult passenger 18 years or older.

There are many rules and restrictions that apply depending on the age of the child as well as the place where the child is traveling. The child's age will be determined based on their age at the time of travel, not necessarily the time they book.

Rules and regulations for minors of unaccompanied age

Children aged 4 and under Delta Airlines prohibits children younger than 4 years old from traveling alone. On the flight, they must be accompanied by an adult at least 18 years of age.

From 5 (5) to 7 (7) Years, Delta Airlines will only allow children between 5 and 7 years old to travel on nonstop flights.

From Eight (8) to Fourteen (14) Years: Delta Airlines will allow children between eight (8) and fourteen (14) to fly on non-stop or connecting flights.

Fifteen (15), to Seventeen (17), years: Delta Airlines allows children between 15 and 17 years old to travel as standard passengers. For more comfort and satisfaction, however, the parent/legal guardian can still pay for the child's travel as an unaccompanied minor.
