FIFA's street-football model

Another feature I am most FIFA 23 Coins interested in experiencing first-hand was the new Physics system. In the wake of HyperMotion 2 being touted as a way to introduce more realistic physics into the game, I wanted to find out if the changes had an actual impact. The result is an interesting mix on this front.

On the one side, you'll see the brand new ball physics on display when you switch the play. The ball turns and spins accurately as you follow the ball's movement. In the past, Volta Football and Pro Clubs have been combined into one nice section, and have similar issues.

We all know that hell is not just other people, and nowhere is this more apparent as in Pro Clubs, where drop-in games are full of wingers who overwhelm the AI with absurdly sloppy calls to pass the ball. It's enjoyable to build your create-a-pro into a Shrek-adjacent goal-scorer, with a closet packed with funny hats but when your progress is dependent on your score in the game that you're encouraged to execute moves that are a waste of time and skill that Saint-Maximin would never do.

Unfortunately, FIFA's street-football model, Volta, suffers a similar fate. It is exemplified by the new "Take Flight" Signature Ability that turns you into an aerial guru. Since the ability is based on working together and crossing the ball, many will just choose Power Strike and haphazardly smack the ball in a joy-seeking run.

The good news is that it appears EA has listened to my pleas for an enhanced Volta Arcade, so I fully credit the fact that it's now been expanded to include a battle royale style of silly minigames and obstacle courses that are reminiscent of the best aspects of Fall Guys. I'm still of FUT 23 Coins buy the opinion that it's a crime that it's only available on weekends, but.
