Within the novel Blood, Sweat, and Pixels The chapter about the calamity that happened during Diablo 3's launch , tells the story of
Diablo IV Gold how one Blizzard Developer played Diablo 3 for hundreds of hours until they came across one iconic piece of loot. The moment that the orange light appeared from a random adversary, he tried to grab the loot , only to realize that his character class couldn't even use it. The loot system was so inherently broken that the thrill that comes from grinding all day which was then followed by relief of finding something that was truly special was broken.
It was then fixed the point that you could only have certain loot tiers that would work for your character, and the rate at which early-game famous items would be dropped was higher. So even though the legendary items you received didn't break the game but you did sometimes get a little bit of dopamine and keep you in the game.
In the event that Diablo 4 gets that right and offers a similar loot game mechanic to Loot2.0 that was in Diablo 3, then we're already concerned about how much time we're going to devote to the game. Diablo 3's debacle is the most beneficial possible thing to happen to the franchise on a go-forward basis. When you combine it with Immortal's Immortal controversy, it's like Blizzard has a simple plan of how to avoid potholes if it's to remain on the right side of it's best players.
The Diablo 3 community is extremely open about the things they don't like and has been through the development of Diablo 3, so we're hopeful that Blizzard will take this feedback from players who were able to play huge portions of the game pre-release. However, we'd bet Blizzard doesn't like the torrent of leaked footage that has been surfacing after one of these private tests.
One aspect that is part of Diablo 3 that is confirmed to return is the time-limited Seasons. These are basically post-game items of content, which change the ways legendary items function, and remix the content of the original game making it a replayable game already replayable. Seasons were included for a substantial amount during Diablo 3, so we're hoping they'll also be a major focus during Diablo 4.
That seasonal approach will also set Diablo 4 up to be another irresistible Game Pass game, should the merger end up closing. A game like Diablo with solid gameplay is the perfect match to provide a service designed to allow gamers to get back into Live games in a couple of months. But this game, which is set to
buy Diablo IV Gold launch in June and the battle over its future with Activision still well underway This is one game that's not likely to get the Game Pass treatment on day one, unless something major occurs.
If we were to bet on it, we'd bet that the primary goal of Diablo 4 is that, when Diablo 4 finally comes out, players in the community that were offended and quite rightly, about Diablo Immortal can relax and think "oh yeah, this is Diablo."
