If you just have a short period in the floating city, it might be challenging to decide exactly how to spend your time given that it is one of the most well-known towns in all of Europe, much like Italy. This is your comprehensive guide to creating the ideal one-day schedule in Venice.
One Day Trip
The simple answer is yes, but the broader answer is no, to the question of whether one day is sufficient to experience Venice. You see, it is quite feasible to explore all of the key sights in a single day, however, your schedule will be jam-packed!
Yet, staying overnight will allow you to appreciate Venice without the throng if you wish to view the location uncrowded.
Also, you should spend two or three days in Venice if you want to see the city's more authentic areas and find some of its less well-known attractions.
Roaming around the city
The best way to navigate the city is on foot. While there are many steps and cobbled roads, it is important to wear comfortable walking shoes. This is not the place to break in new shoes or the location you want to bring your new high heels. While the city may get quite hot in the summer, make sure to pack some snacks and water bottles.
Itinerary
Bridge of sighs
Start your day with the Bridge of Sighs, one of Venice's most well-known landmarks. The reason for the bridge's unusual name is that it once crossed over a structure that housed a jail and another where people were put to death during the Middle Ages.
Doge’s Place
The Doge's Palace requires up to three hours to explore, therefore I've added this activity first thing in the morning, right after the Bridge of Sighs, so you can finish one of Venice's most exhausting activities while you still have plenty of energy.
Saint Mark Basilica
Saint Mark's Basilica, a religious structure that was constructed in the 11th century and has been expanded through time, is the genuine crown gem in the center of Saint Mark's Square. It is ornate, gilded, and sculpted.
Ponte di Rialto
As well known in Venice as the Eiffel Tower is in Paris is the lovely Bridge di Rialto. Even if you only have a short period in the city, this is yet another must-see site and is a well-liked location for engaged couples.
Venice Gondola Tours
There are other ways to experience Venice's waterways, but riding in the Venice Gondola Tours is unquestionably the most well-known. I chose to ride in a gondola on my first visit to Venice when I was 19 years old, and I'm pleased I did!
Venice Gondola Tours rides are expensive, and the city has restricted their cost to either 80 euros for 40 minutes or 100 euros if taken after sunset.
