Injection molding in a plastic injection molding machine is a versatile process that can produce almost any product. While injection molding is the industry standard for making Pet Preforms for products, it has its limitations. When designing new products to ensure quality and durability, there are usually eight rules to follow.

1. Wall thickness. The wall thickness of the part is proportional to the total material required to make the part and the required cooling time. If the part walls are too thick or inconsistent, sinking and warping will occur, resulting in scrap and expensive redesign. More accurate, ensuring that your wall thickness matches the performance of your machine.

2. Corner. It is almost impossible to force the plastic into a perfect corner, and the result will look cluttered and unprofessional, not to mention the strength of the part will be affected. Whenever possible, bypass all corners to enhance aesthetics and durability.

3. Apply the draft. The draft is a slight angle applied to the mold on a face perpendicular to the parting line, typically one to two degrees. This will allow easy removal of the part from the mold.

4. Ribs. The rib is the structural element of the part for overall stability control. They are thin-walled protrusions that extend vertically from a wall or plane. Adding ribs instead of thicker walls will provide greater structural support.

5. The bosses. The bosses are hollow cylindrical protrusions that are typically included in the design to accept screws or other mating components in the design. Make sure they are fixed by attaching them to the wall or adding ribs, which means the boss will remain straight.

6. External undercut. It generally refers to protrusions or depressions on the outside of the mold that are prone to problems when trying to separate parts from a mold that is removed from a PET preform injection molding machine. In this case, adjust the parting line to suit this situation.

7. Internal undercut or overcut. Similar to the outer undercut, these protrusions or depressions are located inside the mold. As with the external undercut, adjust the parting line to accommodate this situation.

8. Thread. A good mold design always aligns the threads perpendicular to the parting line to avoid damage to the fragile threads. Simplifying your design will reduce the likelihood of problems.

Designing high quality Pet Preform Mould is the essence of the design process, and the design rules are guidelines for producing high quality and versatile products.
