Structure
PVC has an amorphous structure with polar chlorine atoms in the molecular structure. It is inseparable to have a chlorine atom and an amorphous molecular structure. Although plastics look very similar in everyday use, PVC has completely different characteristics in terms of performance and function compared to olefin plastics which have only carbon and hydrogen atoms in their molecular structure. PVC materials are often added with stabilizers, lubricants, auxiliary processing agents, pigments, impact agents and other additives.
Attributes
PVC materials are chemically stable due to their chlorine atoms. In addition, it has flame retardancy, high strength, weather resistance and excellent geometric stability. PVC has excellent flame retardant properties even in the absence of flame retardants. The heat released during combustion is much lower than that of PE and PP. Therefore, in terms of safety, PVC is very suitable for people's daily life. PVC has good resistance to climate change. Under normal conditions of use, atmospheric oxygen oxidation is a major factor in determining its durability. PVC has a high degree of antioxidant reactivity due to chlorine atoms. In addition, PVC is highly resistant to reducing agents and acids.
PVC process
The melting temperature of the pipe mold PVC is a very important process parameter in the processing time. Incorrect parameter settings will result in material decomposition. PVC has very poor flow characteristics and a very narrow technical range. In particular, high molecular weight PVC materials are more difficult to process (this material is often added to improve the flow characteristics of the lubricant), so small molecular weight PVC materials are commonly used. The shrinkage of PVC is very low, generally 0.2 to 0.6%.
Injection molding process conditions:
Drying: Drying is usually not required.
Melting temperature: 185~205°C
Mold temperature: 20~50°C
Injection pressure: up to 1500 bar
Keep pressure: can be as large as 1000bar
Injection speed: In order to avoid material degradation, the injection speed must be quite large.
Runners and doors: All conventional doors can be used. When handling smaller components, it is best to use pinpoint gates or subsea gates; for thicker parts, it is best to use sector gates. The minimum diameter of the tip or sea door shall be 1 mm; the thickness of the sector door shall not be less than 1 mm.
