Fiber Closure Is A Good Alternative To Copper Wire

Fiber Closure or Fiber to the Home is a fiber optic cable that replaces the standard copper wire of local telecommunications companies. Many people like it because it can have high-speed broadband services that integrate voice, data and video, and is a junction box that connects directly to a home or building. So sometimes it's called Fiber Closure to architecture or FTTB.

Traditional copper telephone lines transmit analog signals generated by telephone equipment, including fax machines. Analog technology is essentially a signal technology that is less accurate than digital technology. Although multiplexing allows digital signals to travel over multiple channels over copper, fiber optic cables have advantages in relaying these signals and allow for faster transmission rates and virtually unlimited bandwidth. This opens the door to better Internet speeds, streaming video and other demanding applications.

The Internet utilizes a cable backbone that provides incredible bandwidth. This inherent ability makes it a major source of networking technology that can be brought to the home or business. However, most users log in to the network through a limited amount of copper wire. This creates a bottleneck in technologies that require more bandwidth. FTTH fills this gap.

In many cases, FTTH boxes are expensive. Installing it can be expensive, and the monthly cost of subsequent broadband services can also be a burden. As fibers become more common, costs may fall over time.

Due to the cost and logistical difficulties involved in replacing existing copper wire in certain areas, FTTH boxes are often installed in new communities as an additional sales function. Installing it will increase the value of existing properties.

The Ftth Box can be installed as a point-to-point architecture or a passive optical network (PON). FTTH is different from fiber-to-the-road (FTTC) because FTTC does not run directly to homes or buildings. Instead, it runs to the side of the road, and the last line of each building is still copper.
