How to use a voltmeter to test the voltage of the Sealed Ups Battery

An easy way to check the voltage of a Sealed Ups Battery is to use a voltmeter, which measures the potential difference between two points in the circuit (in vulgar terms: voltage). We recommend that you choose digital voltmeters because they are easy to use.

In order to get the most accurate readings, please perform this test twelve hours after turning off the vehicle to allow the surface charge to dissipate.

Make sure your vehicle is turned off.

Remove the positive terminal cover of the Sealed Ups Battery. Check the terminals for corrosion and clean them if necessary. Then, you need to connect the positive lead of the voltmeter to the positive lead of the battery. Then, follow the same steps as the positive electrode to connect the negative voltmeter lead to the negative battery terminal. Now you are ready to check the reading of the voltmeter.

Check the reading. A fully charged battery will usually display a voltmeter reading of approximately 12.6 to 12.8 volts. If your voltmeter shows a voltage anywhere between 12.4 and 12.8, then the battery is in good condition.

Any voltage higher than 12.9 volts can well indicate that the battery voltage is too high. If this is the case, please turn on the high beam to consume excessive voltage surface charge. (In addition, overcharging may mean that the alternator is responsible for overcharging the battery.)

If the voltage displayed by the voltmeter is lower than 12.4, please charge the battery. However, if your voltmeter reads below 12.2 volts, you should consider "ckle-flow charging" the battery. Essentially, this means that you will charge the battery at a much slower rate, thus avoiding the risk of applying excessive amperage, which can cause a lot of waste heat and outgassing (in extreme cases, also May explode).

Sealed Solar Battery is also our product, welcome to consult and purchase.
