Why online courses are so much more than just online knowledge

Body

What is an online course?

Definition: A training process lasting at least several days, usually several weeks, in which the participants are supported via the Internet in getting from starting point A to learning goal B. Visit mcqshub.com for online preparation for any test. World best mcqs website.

What are the different variants?

Online courses can be differentiated according to the following design features:

Synchronous vs. asynchronous.

Courses differ according to how many synchronous or asynchronous channels are used.

Self-study course vs. program / coaching program

How many dates are there in a course? Or are they all working time-shifted?

Length / circumference, how “pointed” is the solution to the problem?

There are very "top" courses that aim at exactly solving problems and can be correspondingly short tutorials

and there are rather "broad" courses that extend over a longer period of time, but usually do not go so much in depth (e.g. an annual program on a coaching topic)

Media selection (video, audio, text)

This is the most obvious distinction between courses: which media or medium is used primarily.

More complex courses usually mix the media - depending on the content.

In my opinion, the choice of media is of secondary importance. A course with simple PDF texts as well as elaborate videos can be good and helpful for a target group.

What also belongs in the topic for me, but does not fall under the term "online course"?

Live online workshops / online seminars (vs. webinars)

These are selective online workshops that are held in a webinar room. Unlike an online course, they don't last for several weeks - they are the online counterparts to classic seminars. For me, "webinars" are short online lectures.

Member areas

Here the customer regularly pays a contribution to get content on the topic and to become part of the community. In contrast to online courses, there is no beginning and no end, and often there is also no sequential arrangement of the content.

How can an online course be used in business?

Offer supervised group programs several times a year. The group starts together, the online trainer acts as a moderator and provides more or less active support. As a provider, you have a lot of work for marketing and onboarding the new participants - and correspondingly very high sales at certain points.

Create self-study courses and create an automatic marketing channel for each. "Passive income."

Unfortunately, there is still no platform that, like Amazon, ensures that a course posted there finds customers. At Udemy, the provider still has to help a lot with the marketing

Therefore, necessary for this strategy: You create a marketing process that, for example, regularly brings new prospects to your e-mail list via Facebook ads, from where you then offer your course.

Either way, you have to find a way to automatically fill your self-study course with customers.

Mini online course as free “freebies” to fill the email list.

The online mcqs course then has an exclusive marketing function.

Inexpensive course as an entry-level product - designed to attract individual clients. Strategically, the focus is then on getting as many people as possible into the inexpensive course and selling out of the course - for example through free final coaching or similar.

Online courses as a supplement to seminars or individual consultations: As a transfer phase after a seminar, additional input + forum. To prepare for a self-study course that participants first have to work through.
