Gathering star fragments in Animal Crossing: New Horizons is a time-consuming process that can be frustrating when you're trying to find the final piece to complete your favorite galaxy-themed DIY project. You have to wait for shooting stars to appear on your island, and only the ones you wish for will turn into star fragments that will appear on the shoreline of your beach the following day.

But what if there was a more convenient way to obtain additional star fragments? Some people have figured it out by looking at star fragment trees.

Technically speaking, star fragment trees are not a naturally occurring feature of the game, and they cannot be grown by the player. There are no ways to grow any of these trees yourself (though we wish we could), but there are ways to obtain all of these trees to include on your island.

Star fragment trees can only be obtained if your Nintendo Switch has been hacked in order to allow mods in buy ACNH bells: New Leaf. Mods for the game have already been released, including one that allows you to consume tarantulas as part of your diet.

Several websites, such as Nookazon, are dedicated to black market ACNH Nook Miles Tickets trades. You can trade Nook Miles Tickets, items, or even real money for DIYs, specific items, and these star fragment trees on Nookazon, as well as other similar sites.

Despite the fact that these trees aren't official game items, if you decide to purchase them, they shouldn't cause any damage to your game file or your computer's operating system. Although there has been no evidence that the hacked items have caused any in-game issues, this does not rule out the possibility that patches to remove these items from your island will be released in the future — so if you're serious about those star fragment trees, be cautious about the amount of money you spend to acquire them.
