Calculate the Calories

The study says that the average calorie consumption for each people in a Christmas dinner is around 3000 calories. It is quite greater than the calorie intake recommended for an adult person. High-calorie consumption contributes to weight gain. In addition, unhealthy foods may cause indigestion and heartburn. So, while choosing the menu for the Christmas day dinner, it is better to opt for a balanced diet food with which your good food craving will be fulfilled, and health will be maintained.

Be Aware While Boozing

Christmas party seems incomplete without a glass of wine. Not only wine, but you may also want to indulge yourself with Bucks Fizz, Baileys, Brandy and so on. However, if you cannot control yourself and the alcohol units mount up, it may have adverse effects on your health. To stay healthy, control drinking and try to alter alcoholic drinks with some soft drinks.

Stay Away from Cold

In the season of Christmas, there is a high chance of having attacks of cold viruses. Travelling around the city at night increases the chances. If you maintain a healthy lifestyle throughout the year for a healthy immune system, you can stay out of cold and flu during the festive season. The ability of your body to fight viruses will be improved by eating a healthy diet, having regular exercises and getting adequate sleep.

Do Not Avoid Fruit

If you have the habit to eat fruits regularly, you should go with the habit during the Christmas season as well. Eating junk foods does not mean that you need to forget the regular eating habit. Even the vitamins and minerals are more essential during this season of late-night parties, overindulge with some unhealthy food. It can help you stay healthy.

Keep Stress at Bay

The enjoyment and fun of Christmas involve cleaning home, cooking for guests and many others. The entire ‘to do’ list lead you to overspend. This, in turn, may cause mental stress. However, you should enjoy the moments without worrying about the expenses. Instead, you should calculate earlier how much you can spend, and go ahead as per your calculation. Try not to overburden yourself.

Think Before Eating

Christmas is a time to have a lot of chocolates, nuts, cheese straws and mince pies. When these tasty treats are in front of you, it is quite possible to forget about your healthy eating habit. Popping plenty of chocolates and nuts in mouth mindlessly may cause weight gain. So, think before eating out a lot of dry fruits, cheese and chocolates.

Drink Plenty of Water

After having a night out and some unhealthy eating, drinking plenty of water is essential. Taking alcohol also may have diuretic effects that make fluid intake more essential. You should give proper effort to drink six to eight glasses of water in a day to avoid dehydration. Dehydration can lead you to a headache and many other problems. Apart from water, you can also drink herbal tea and diluted juice, for better hydration.

Reduce Chances of A Hangover

If you think that you can balance calories by compromising a meal while boozing, it is not an appropriate way. Taking alcohol cannot compensate for the calories of a meal. It supplies only empty calories. Besides, your body requires some valuable nutrients to get detoxified after having alcohol. If you want to prevent a hangover, you should stick to one type of drink. Different types of liquors may worsen a hangover. Also, try to take only one alcoholic drink in an hour.

Get Back on the Track

After the night out and heavy Christmas dinner, you should take a properly balanced diet like you were maintaining before the festival. A balanced diet is essential after you over-indulge yourself. You should opt for low calories, a lot of vitamins and minerals enriched sources, plenty of water and of course a right amount of sleep. It will allow you to have delicious treats again on another occasion or at weekends.

These ways can help you spend a healthier Christmas this year and every coming year. These are the ways to indulge yourself without making any harm to your health.
