What You Need to Host the Best Backyard BBQ

Posted By home fires     December 29, 2021

Body

    1. Enough propane or charcoal

Triple check to make sure you have sufficient gas in the propane tank or enough charcoal to cook all the meals on the BBQ. You don't want to run out of gas or charcoal in the middle of your cooking. The minute you leave half-cooked burgers on the grill, they will taste lifeless and rubbery. Always ensure you have enough fuel no matter the type of grill you are using.

   2. Stocked bar

Keep the esky well-stocked. Provide both kid-friendly drinks and adult drinks. Also, encourage your guests to help themselves. You don't want to reserve a bar that no one wants to touch.

Be sure to provide an esky with ice, bottled waters, juice boxes and other kid-friendly drinks. Set up another bar filled with beer, wine, and other adult beverages. Also, provide non-alcoholic options like iced tea and lemonade, and always offer water.

  3. Entertainment

Provide a few low-key activities for guests to partake in. You can choose to separate the adult activities from the children’s or combine them.

   4. Plenty of food and snacks

Ensure you have enough food for the party. You should also prepare it before your guests arrive.

Ensure all the food is prepared when the guests arrive and that any side dishes are assembled, cooked as needed and out on display. You don't want guests to arrive while you're still forming burger patties and chopping lettuce and tomatoes.

   5. Outside lights

It will eventually get dark outside. When this occurs, you ought to be ready with the decorative backyard lights.

   6. Safety

Put safety first. Ensure your barbecue is not near anything flammable. Make sure you have a spray bottle at the ready for minor flare-ups and a fire extinguisher just in case.

Simplicity is the key to a great BBQ party. Don’t go overboard with the menu – quality over quantity. If you’re looking to invest in a great BBQ this summer, Home Fires has the BBQ for you. Visit our website to browse our range or contact us for more information.
