Working Characteristics of Hydraulic Pump and Hydraulic Motor

Working Characteristics of Hydraulic Pump and Hydraulic Motor:

The working characteristics of hydraulic pump: if the pressure in the suction chamber of hydraulic pump is too low, it will cause insufficient suction, abnormal noise and even no work. The working pressure of the hydraulic pump depends on the external load. In order to prevent the pressure from being too high under abnormal conditions, pressure limiting measures (such as installing overflow valve) are often taken at the outlet of the pump. Variable displacement pump can change the flow rate by adjusting the displacement. Quantitative pump can only adjust the flow rate by changing the rotation speed.

The working characteristics of hydraulic motor: the motor should be able to run forward and backward, therefore, it is required that the hydraulic motor should have structural symmetry in design. When the inertia load of the hydraulic motor is large, the rotating speed is high, and rapid braking or reverse rotation is required, a higher hydraulic impact will be generated, and the required push-to-full valve or buffer valve shall be set in the system. As internal leakage is inevitable, there will still be slow and habitual slip when the motor's oil drain is closed for braking. Therefore, when accurate braking is required for a long time, a brake to prevent slipping should be set separately. Some types of hydraulic motors must have sufficient back pressure at the oil return port to ensure normal operation.
