Air Jordan Chateau Rouge Sneaker Customization: The Big Kicksheart Interview

This year the guys from the kicksheart team , which we know as one of the coolest custom studios in Russia, are launching large-scale air jordan chateau rouge customization courses. In anticipation of this event, we decided to interview the person who actually owns the studio itself.

Hey! First, tell us a little about yourself.

Hello everyone, my name is Mikhail Skopp , I'm 23 years old, I'm the founder of the kicksheart online custom studio, and at the time of writing, I'm a 6th year student at a medical university.

Since I've been into sneakers for a long time, when I first saw custom photos on the Internet, I wildly wanted to make my own design on my sneakers. But at that time, no one in Russia really did this, and if they did, then the price for me was simply unbearable.

But I was wildly excited about what I learned about the possibility of creating exactly the kind of sneakers that you yourself want.

At the end of 2016, I renamed the “sneaker reviews” group I had to “AreaSNKR1” and completely went into the custom theme.

2017 started quite successfully: I found an artist, bought all the necessary materials and we made the first pair, it was Yeezy Boost 350 x Supreme, which entered the Russian community and caught some hype.

We believed in ourselves so much that it was decided to go to Sneakercon Hong Kong and become the first guys from Russia to show their custom pairs there. But there was not much money, so it was decided to live with a friend who was able to find me a small room where I slept on the floor.

I arranged with the organizers to have my table next to the basketball court where NBA legend Ray Allen played. Thanks to this, there were always a lot of people around our table, they wanted to buy all the pairs from us, but many of the works could not be sold, because. these were the customers' sneakers.

Over time, of course, I realized that the quality of the work that lay on my table was below average, and it was simply impossible to go to Snickercon with such pairs. But still, the purpose of my trip was to assess the level of the custom industry abroad, to communicate, to ask for advice from more experienced people in this topic.

Slowly, orders came in, I began to understand that 1 artist was not enough, I needed to assemble a team. As a result, 2-3 artists appeared, the quality of the custom left much to be desired, but there were no other options.

In 2018 , Adidas invited us to customize football sneakers at the Tangо League event, for this we recruited a girl-artist of a very high level in addition to the already existing 2 guys, and after I saw that she draws just fine, a decision was made about a sudden team change.

I removed all the old artists and put together a team of girls only. As a result, I received a total improvement in the quality of work, service, and the lead time for orders was reduced.

Of course, things didn't go so smoothly. Let me give you a short story as an example, in which it seems that it’s about to work out, but in the end nothing happens: I  contacted the founder of the site nicekicks, we agreed that we would make him a custom.

I drank a pair of Nike Air Max 1s, paid for the work of the artist, paid for the studio for 2 hours, found a live snake (thanks to Dima Egorov), made a full-fledged photoset, paid for shipping to the USA. The couple came, he said he liked it, but in the end he just didn’t post the photos anywhere. And there are many more such situations.

In 2022, we changed the name of the project to kicksheart, updated the logo, started working together with several VK groups, and much more, but this is still a secret.

It is quite difficult for one to do such a thing. air jordan chateau rouge How many people are on your team?

Not that difficult, but simply impossible. The key is that each person should do what they are very good at. Each person from the team is responsible for something of his own and does not interfere with the other. This ultimately gives good results.

I am in charge of communication, development, marketing, ordering, video editing and SMM, and  4 amazing artists draw, help with ideas for development, shoot and edit videos.
