We often ask our customers about common defects that cause cars to fail their roadworthy certificate inspections. First, it's important to understand why these safety certificate rockhampton are vital to ensuring that your car is safe.

All motorists have the right to feel safe on the road, and that's why there should be a system to ensure that this happens. It's understood by many of us that we need to have a license before getting behind the wheel; this helps to prove our competency when using a vehicle. To further enforce this very right, vehicles also need to be made as safe as possible, so make sure you keep everything in good working condition!
Everyone has a different idea of what is considered safe, and everyone has a different level of knowledge when it comes to cars and how they work.
Driving safety is more than just making sure your vehicle won't fall apart on the road. There are so many things that can affect our driving experience; some cars don't even have headlights! Imagine driving at night and not being able to see where you're going! So in this section, we talk about ways we can make the roads safer for everyone, including car drivers, pedestrians, cyclists and anyone that has to cross a road.
So what are some of the common reasons cars fail roadworthy inspections, and why are these things important?
Suspension Bushings:
The parts need to be just right for your car to operate in the way you want it to. The bushings are metal pieces called (bushings) that connect your suspension components with the rest of the car and make sure it drives and steers as you expect it to. These metal pieces can come loose every once in a while, and if this happens, your car won't drive or steer smoothly; if this happens at a bad time, like when you're driving down a very steep hill or on icy roads, it could put you or other road-users immediately in danger.
  Tyres:
Those black doughnut-shaped things can be controversial, but many people do not know that tyres are responsible for so much more than we know about them. While they help us steer, stop, accelerate, and turn, most drivers don't even realize how important their tyres are when driving in wet conditions. Did you know that 80% of the time, car accidents happen on rainy days? And did you also know most car accidents occur due to slippery roads? And more importantly, did you know that 80% of these car accidents would have been prevented if the drivers had proper treaded tyres installed on their vehicles? Because more often than not, new cars come equipped with very little or no tread at all! It's truly a miracle when a tyre has enough depth to grip onto snow and ice, let alone prevent your vehicle from sliding off the road!
 Power steering:
Modern power steering assist consists of electrical and hydraulic systems that can assist the steering process. The steering is done through small reduction gears attached to either side of the worm gear in a way that creates resistance when turning the tire. This could get difficult since a large percentage of the torque is converted into static force while using fluid held back by a spring, thus creating "viscous friction." If you notice your power steering getting harder to turn, check for leaks right away, as these can significantly decrease your ability to steer effectively.
