Tips to Know Before You Go Camping

Camping is a fantastic hobby with a lot to offer. It's a chance to unwind from the daily grind and find a little peace. You can finally disconnect and enjoy the beauty of Mother Nature.

Whether you're a seasoned outdoor enthusiast or this is your first time setting up camp, here are some important tips to keep you safe.

Keep Food Away from Your Tent

One of the most critical things to remember is to keep your food outside of your campsite. You can place it in an available bear box, hang it up on a tree, or put it in a cooler around 100 yards away from where you plan to sleep. Get the best bear painting by visiting this website.

The last thing you want is to attract bears. These creatures have a strong sense of smell, and keeping food out in the open will surely draw them in. It's great to get some distant photos for a bear painting, but you should do everything to keep them away!

Choose the Right Spot

Finding suitable camping grounds isn't tough these days. Many state and national parks offer great spots to set up your tent. Some even have easy access to amenities like Wi-Fi!

But if you're going primitive, you'll need to focus on finding a relatively flat area. It should also be close to a water source and away from known bear hangouts.

Bring the Essentials

The list of camping gear you should bring is pretty extensive. Not only do you need a reliable tent, but you need food for cooking, clothing to stay warm, light sources, firestarters, and more.

Do some research about the area you're camping in. Knowing what it's like can guide you in the right direction. Don't forget to bring bear spray, insect repellant, and a first-aid kit!

Don't Mess with the Wildlife

Our last tip is to appreciate the wildlife from afar. Wild animals don't know that you come in peace. You're a would-be predator, and many will go on the defense when you're around.

Animals in remote camping spots aren't used to interacting with humans, so never assume that you can walk right up to an animal and be OK. Snapping photos to get a made-to-order bear painting is fine. However, keeping a safe distance is paramount.
