What Stainless Steel Will Be Used In The Commonly Used Cooler Cart

Body

A grade of stainless steel refers to the quality, temperature resistance and durability of the metal. The most common stainless grades in Metal cooler carts are 304, 316, 430, and 443. Each stainless steel has a slightly different composition and is suitable for different environments and uses.

304 Series: This austenitic grade is the most common grade found in food preparation equipment, from sinks to cocktail apparatuses to freezers and more. This composition includes chromium and nickel (both of which enhance the corrosion resistance of steel), as well as carbon and iron. It is not magnetic. This is a good choice for most kitchen appliances, but if you're going to be working in high humidity/corrosion/temperature environments, one of the other grades may serve you better.

316 Series: 316 is also an austenitic grade and is often referred to as food grade due to its enhanced corrosion protection properties. This is due to the addition of molybdenum, which provides a strengthening effect against chloride rusting. It is also not magnetic. If you are working with more aggressive foods or will be working in a coastal environment then this is the best option for you. It will cost more than the 304 series, but it will withstand these types of stressors.

430 Series: This magnetic ferritic grade has the lowest nickel content, which means reduced corrosion resistance. This grade is still considered high quality, although it is not as durable as the austenitic grade. One reason for this may be higher resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Can be used in moderately corrosive environments or decorative applications.

443 Series: Another magnetic ferritic grade, this alloy contains chromium and titanium for strong corrosion resistance, especially with respect to moisture and salt. While this grade is not as durable as 304 and 316, its corrosion resistance is comparable to 304 and it has higher temperature resistance.
