The EMEA region will kick off the WePlay Esports Rocket League Invitational on Thursday, September 16 at 11 a. m. ET / 5 p. m. CEST on the official WePlay Esports Twitch and YouTube channels, respectively. Every day, at 10:30 a. m. ET / 4:30 p. m. CEST, the stream begins 30 minutes before the start of the event. The tournament will be held in a double-elimination format, with all matches being best-of-seven in nature. Each match is expected to last one hour, which will include time for analysis. The Grand Finale will be a best-of-set match, with the winning team required to win two best-of-seven matches in order to claim victory.

Who's going to be there?
WePlay Esports took a straightforward approach for this Rocket League Invitational, inviting only the top eight players from the Rocket League Championship Series X. Due to the disbanding of Europe's Solary, they instead invited the best team from the Middle East, Sandrock Gaming, to compete in the tournament.

This decision drew some criticism from members of the community, who felt that other European teams were more deserving of the prize money. However, with the Middle East set to compete in their own region in the RLCS in the near future, it will serve as a good warm-up against the best in the world before the competition. A number of fans expressed their desire to see the South American True Neutral, who recently moved to Mexico to compete in the NA RLCS, take the field over lower-tier teams such as the Susquehanna Soniqs, in the same vein as above.

The following are the teams representing Europe:
Team BDS is a group of individuals who have come together to work on a project.
SMPR Esports Team Vitality SMPR Esports

Vodafone Giants Guild Esports Karmine Corp Dignitas Vodafone Giants Guild Esports

Sandrock Gaming is a gaming company based in the United Kingdom.
In terms of North America, the contenders are as follows:

NRG Team Envy SpaceStation Gaming Rogue G2 Esports FaZe Clan (who will play with a sub) Shopify Rebellion Susquehanna Soniqs NRG Team Envy SpaceStation Gaming

The first match of the week pits Team BDS against Sandrock Gaming. Initially, Team BDS was scheduled to face the Vodafone Giants in the first round of the competition. However, in response to community feedback, organizers altered the seeding, resulting in nearly all of the first-round matchups across both regions being shifted.
