Our coverage of the 2.0. 3 update includes a look at what's new in the expansion Happy Home Paradise as well as which bugs have been fixed. We also take a look at another small announcement that seemed to have slipped under the radar - the Series 5 Collectors Album, which will be available in the coming weeks.
Update Patch for ACNH 2.0. 3 - Bug Fixes, Changes, and the Series 5 Collectors Album
As has been the case with the previous patches, this one is nothing more than a hotfix for a couple of glitches that were present in the Happy Home Paradise expansion pack. This isn't what you'd call a major or even a minor content update; rather, it's a patch that's been released to squash some bugs and bring the game up to date with the latest patch. So it works exactly as Nintendo intended, which is particularly encouraging given that this is the third update in as many weeks since the launch of 2.0. Let's get right into this ACNH 2.0. 3 update business, shall we?
Notes on the Patch for Version 2.0. 3
The following are the official patch notes for Animal Crossing: New Horizons version 2.0. 3 in their entirety:
A problem where cheap ACNH items could be duplicated by using a specific method has been resolved.
There was a problem in which the same character could appear twice on the island where Paradise Planning was located. This has been resolved.
Although Nintendo has traditionally released its bug-fix updates in the wee hours of Friday mornings, we suspect that they wanted to put a stop to any duplication tricks as soon as possible, which is why this patch was released a few days earlier than usual. Over the course of the next few weeks, we'll continue to see more of these small patch updates, which will coincide with the increasing number of people who unlock new content and begin to complete things like the happy home paradise story mode and all of the unlockable features.
The fifth series of the Collectors Album is available now.
As you may be aware, Series 5 amiibo cards went on sale in conjunction with the release of version 2.0 and have been marketed in the same way as the first four series. As you may recall, the first four series all came with special collectors albums to house the amiibo cards. Nintendo UK did make a small announcement that seemed to have slipped under the radar regarding the release of a series 5 album, which is currently in development. They recently revealed that series 5 will receive its own collector's album, in the same manner as the first four series, and that it will be released sometime in January of the following year. The tweet that announced this, which is, strangely enough, the only official word on the subject, also confirms that pre-orders will be available in the near future. Now, we don't know for certain, but it's likely that this will be limited to Europe and other power regions, just as the first four series were limited to the United States.
